Economic Momentum Index

Variable EMI of nine · scored for every 1 km site

Real-asset values do not exist in an economic vacuum.

The value of land and infrastructure is intimately linked to the economic dynamism of the geography in which it sits — through demand for commercial space, the purchasing power of residents, the premium global capital assigns to the market, and the fiscal capacity of governments to fund the improvements that amplify asset values. Economy-level tailwinds systematically amplify asset-level returns.

Arcanium measures momentum rather than size: the direction and acceleration of economic activity around each site, combined with the investment flowing into it. A large but stagnant economy and a smaller, rapidly compounding one are different propositions for a long-horizon asset, and a measure of level alone would rank them backwards.

Because momentum is scored on one global scale, a mature economy will often read mid-range: it is growing steadily rather than rapidly. That is the measure working as intended — it captures trajectory, and the other eight variables capture the conditions that trajectory is moving through.
